Welcome to our weekly patient education series. Straightening your teeth with clear aligners offers massive flexibility compared to metal brackets. However, protecting your orthodontic trays requires some adjustments in daily drinking habits.
The Importance of Removing Trays Before Eating
You must remove your trays for every meal. Chewing solid food with aligners in place will warp, scratch, or break the medical polymer, ruining the vector mapping planned in your ClinCheck design.
Why Water is Your Best Friend
While wearing the trays, you should strictly only drink plain, cold, or room-temperature water. Warm tea, coffee, or sodas can warp the plastic and stain the transparent material, defeating the invisible nature of the aligners.
